I’ve been a licensed mental health clinician in Gainesville since graduating from the University of Florida’s Counselor Education program in 2016. Today, I specialize in working with high-achieving adults navigating complex trauma (CPTSD), burnout, anxiety, and perfectionism.

But my path into trauma therapy wasn’t purely academic, it was personal.

After experiencing a traumatic event that turned my life upside down, I sought therapy hoping for relief. Instead, I left feeling more alone, invalidated, and misunderstood. It was the kind of experience that keeps many high-functioning adults from ever reaching out again. That moment changed me. It clarified my mission: no client should ever leave therapy feeling unseen or dismissed.

Therapy with me is collaborative. We untangle patterns gently but directly. We build emotional safety. We increase self-understanding. And we create space for you to exist beyond performance. If you are a high-achieving adult in Gainesville navigating CPTSD, burnout, or complex relational trauma, you don’t have to keep carrying it alone.

My role is to sit beside you as we unravel the complexities of your story, not as an authority above you. But as a grounded, attuned partner in your healing.

What treatment areas do you specialize in?

I specialize in working with high-achieving adults who, despite success in many areas of life, feel like something is still missing or not quite right. Many of the clients I work with are navigating the lasting impact of complex trauma, including unresolved experiences from childhood that continue to shape how they relate to themselves, others, and the world.

My clinical focus includes complex trauma, PTSD, identity exploration, and parenting challenges. I approach this work from a trauma-informed, non-pathologizing lens creating a space where you can make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels more aligned, grounded, and authentic.

Why did you become a therapist?

I think I’ve always been on the path of helping people just never knew how exactly I would help. But I had one experience with a therapist who invalidated my experience after a traumatic event in my life. I left that appointment knowing I never wanted another person to feel the way I did at that moment. I believe that there is great power in someone witnessing and sitting with another who is suffering without pathologizing that pain.

What can a client expect to experience in session with you?

You can expect a real, authentic person sitting across from you, someone who will be right beside you as we explore who you are underneath the survival strategies, expectations, and roles you’ve had to carry. My approach is warm, relational, honest, and focused on genuine human connection. That means I will listen deeply, hold space without judgment, gently challenge the patterns that may no longer be serving you, and remind you of your capacity, resilience, and power, even when you’ve lost sight of it yourself. Therapy with me is not about perfection or pretending to have it all together. It’s about creating a space where you can show up fully or as messy as you are.And yes, there will probably be some swearing along the way too.

What treatment tools or modalities do you use in your practice?

I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy that is grounded in person-centered care and responsive to the unique needs of each client. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, I draw from a range of evidence-based and relational modalities to support meaningful, lasting change.

My work is deeply rooted in person-centered therapy, where the therapeutic relationship itself is the foundation for healing. One built on authenticity, trust, and genuine human connection. I also incorporate parts work to help clients understand and compassionately engage with the different aspects of themselves that may hold pain, protection, or unmet needs.

Psychodynamic and relational approaches guide our exploration of how past experiences, especially those from childhood, continue to influence present patterns, relationships, and sense of self. At the same time, Gestalt techniques allow us to stay connected to your present-moment experience, building awareness of emotions, body sensations, and internal processes as they arise.

How do issues of Identity, Equity, and Justice influence your role?

I believe that meaningful, lasting change in therapy requires us to engage with the realities of identity, equity, and justice and the ways they shape our lived experiences and overall quality of life. These are not separate from mental health, they are deeply intertwined with how we move through the world and understand ourselves.

What’s your go to coffee order?

As a sleep deprived mom whatever is the biggest coffee on the menu bonus if it doubles as a sweet treat.

What made you want to work at Arise?

I started Arise because I was craving community in this work. Private practice can be incredibly isolating, and I knew that wasn’t sustainable for me or aligned with how I wanted to show up as a clinician. I wanted to create a space that centers both clinician well-being and meaningful, high-quality client care.

Taking that leap mattered, and I’m deeply grateful to now be surrounded by a team of thoughtful, skilled clinicians who both support me and challenge me to continue showing up as my most authentic self.

How do you believe change happens?

I believe that meaningful change begins with awareness, gently understanding why we do what we do, without judgment or shame. When we begin to make sense of the patterns, protections, and experiences behind what we often call our “issues,” we create space to reconnect with our more authentic selves.

From that place of awareness and self-understanding, new choices become possible. These choices aren’t always easy, but they are often more aligned, intentional, and ultimately more fulfilling. Over time, this process supports deeper, more sustainable change that feels true to who you are…not just who you’ve had to be.
